We invite students, families, faculty, staff, and community members to: foster and deepen your sense of community, celebrate the accomplishments of our Black Gaucho scholars, honor the legacy of Black excellence in leadership, participate in our Black student resource fair, share in African diasporic cuisine, enjoy local entertainment, games, and other social activities. Point of Pride

UCSB has a strong tradition of expanding services and opportunities for Black students through a history student activism and collaboration with university administration. Our Black Studies Department, ranked 9th in the country, houses world class scholars, including a Pulitzer Prize winner and the flagship journal for Haitian studies.
